The deputy prime minister visited a charity that supports people recovering from addiction.
Hertsmere MP Oliver Dowden was given a tour of The Living Room’s Watford hub today (May 12) that has been open since last August.
He also met with some of the people being supported by the charity so he could learn about their recovery and treatment.
Mr Dowden said: “It was also a privilege to meet with those who have directly benefited from the therapy.

- 'No hope' for mum living in house with 'damp and rats'

“It is clear from their stories that The Living Room plays a vital part in our community and truly saves lives.”
People from across Hertfordshire, including Radlett, Bushey, and Borehamwood, are helped by the charity.
The Living Room’s external relations director, Mark Wiseman, said: “Hopefully Oliver will take with him the notion that small charities like ours can have a big, positive impact on the local communities in which they are embedded, when working closely with local government and other organisations involved in people’s health and wellbeing.”
