Sainsbury's has explained why new parking signs have been put up after motorists became concerned over potential charges.
A new sign advertising “daily and monthly parking available here” was installed in the Sainsbury's car park near Tim Hortons and The Dome roundabout at the end of last week.
As the advert for Horizon Parking does not include more detail, besides how to book, some parents of children at nearby schools apparently became concerned they wouldn’t be able to freely drop their kids off there anymore.

It added that the signs are advertising a "sale of spaces" deal which allows people to rent "a limited number" of the car park's spaces for longer stay paid parking through Horizon.
This deal had been in place prior to the new signs going up but people using the car park may not have known about it until now.
24-hour access to a spot for a month costs £55 while a single 24-hour stay would cost £3.75.
