Plans have been submitted to build five family-sized homes on a site that is directly on top of a train tunnel.
The properties would be built on the rear garden of 32 Strangeways, Watford, as well as additional land that was sold by the previous owners of number 57 to number 32.
If approved, it would be accessed from Goodwood Avenue.

The plans were submitted to Watford Borough Council on February 13 to build three 3-bed semi-detached homes, one 3-bed terraced house, and one 5-bed semi-detached house.
According to the proposals, “the layout and orientation of the proposed buildings on the site means that the number of units over the underground train tunnel is kept to a minimum”.
Trains serving the stretch between Watford and Euston would travel underneath.

Each home will have a designated parking space, two bike spaces and four bike areas will be available for visitors.
If the houses were to be built, residents will be close to two bus stops, Orchard Primary School and Goodwood Recreation Ground.
The application can be found on the council's planning portal via reference 23/00089/FUL.
