After bids to turn a former care home into flats failed, new plans have now been submitted to bring the building back to life.
The old Hillside Rest Home in Kingsfield Road in Oxhey could become a home for people with learning difficulties and autism.
Supported living provider Magic Life wants to refurbish and extend the existing building as well as create an outbuilding in the garden.

When it was a care home, the property had 24 bedrooms but Magic Life is seeking to split it into two ‘houses’ for seven adults each.
Also planned is a rear extension of up to two storeys, the demolition of existing extensions, and a new garden building providing activity space.
Magic Life says the new facility would provide a “safe and nurturing” environment for adults with round-the-clock care needs.
The company is said to be in the process of buying the property, which was on the market for £2 million in 2021.
Watford Borough Council has previously turned down two applications by another planning agent to demolish the existing building and construct nine flats in its place.
Neighbours had objected raising concerns about overlooking and the design of the flats.
