Watford's Under-16 team won the annual Kickz tournament in Barnet after thrashing West Ham United 5-0 in the final.

The Watford team featured Rory Moore, Corey Johnson, Rex Kimona, Dean Smith, David Warunge, Charlie Barton and Sam O’Neill.

Watford went into the competition on the back of an agonising final defeat last year. Their first hurdle was the regional heats, which included Arsenal, but they emerged as the top side.

In the finals, Watford won six of their games and drew the other three to qualify for a semi-final against Queens Park Rangers. A 3-1 victory secured Watford's place in the final.

Watford did not let the occasion get to them and saw off West Ham easily. Striker Rex Kimona scored a hat-trick in the win and the players celebrated at the awards presentation which featured former England striker Teddy Sheringham.

Team coach Greg Willerton said: "To perform unbeaten throughout the tournament and win the final in that fashion is an excellent credit to themselves and the team."

Kickz projects are open to young people for free and are run three times a week, giving those involved a chance to integrate themselves into a club and gain an understanding into the well-being of the community.
