Glorious sunshine was the order of the day was as Herts Bowls Club celebrated their centenary year with a special game against Bowls England.
The Belmont Wood Avenue club beat the visiting team by 34 shots in one of a number of events the club has organised to celebrate their 100th year.
Mayor of Watford Dorothy Thornhill attended the event and was given the honour of delivering the first bowl.
Bowls England President Stuart Lake, who was joined by presidents from clubs across the Southern region, presided over the match and presented the winning top rink with commemorative pens.
Herts Bowling Club President Peter Lundy said: "It’s been a most successful day. The club has never looked nicer and credit goes to everyone concerned at the club who made today so memorable."
The club will also be holding an open day on September 23 for people to give bowls a try. This will take place between 10am and 4pm.
