Watford Under-15s will need to pick themselves up quickly after a heavy defeat to Everton in the semi-final of the Northern Ireland Milk Cup set-up a third place play-off against Liverpool today.
The Hornets lost 4-0 in a disappointing evening in Limavady that saw the Toffees progress to today’s final against Brentford.
It’s the first defeat for Watford in the junior tournament and they had been ranked third out of 20 qualifying teams, after wins against Queen of the South and County Armagh and a draw against Ipswich in the group stages.
The Hornet’s now face Everton’s Merseyside rivals Liverpool at the Rugby Avenue Stadium today at 11am, after the Reds lost their semi-final 5-4 on penalties.
