Young Watford striker Gavin Massey has joined League One side Colchester on loan while Rene Gilmartin makes an early return to the Hornets from his two month spell at Yeovil Town.
Massey will spend the next month at the Weston Homes Community Stadium - his second loan spell in League One after scoring three times in 17 appearances for Yeovil earlier in the campaign.
Watford manager Sean Dyche said: "I am really pleased with the Gavin Massey loan. I know the manager John Ward well and I know he looks after young players properly.
"It is great that Gavin will be able to get some valuable game time."
Goalkeeper Gilmartin was due to stay with the Glovers until the end of this month but following new manager Gary Johnson’s arrival at Huish park his loan has been cut short.
The 26-year-old played eight matches while in Somerset keeping three clean sheets.
