Sky Draper put in yet another impressive performance in the Chiltern Cross Country League, following her Middlesex Championship victory last week.
Draper, representing Harrow AC, placed third at the event, which attracted over 900 competitors, from 30 different running clubs across the north-west home counties.
This is the first of two years for Triathlete Draper, who competed well against Bedfordshire duo Rebecca Murray and Revee Walcott-Nolan, who are both in their second year.
Both have been in fine form of late, Murray won her County Championships a week prior to the race, and had also picked up victory in the first three rounds of the Chiltern League.
Revee has also impressed, she finished second in the County Championships, and has already beaten and lost to Draper in the Chiltern League.
Draper matched the duo for pace in the first lap, and even opened up a lead on Revee at one point, however they soon pulled away and Draper found herself third at the beginning of lap two.
Despite being unable to catch up with Murray and Revee, Draper who attends Northwood College, managed to maintain her position and finish third with an impressive time of 18.21.
Murray picked up yet another victory with a time of 17.39, holding off the challenge of Walcott-Nolan who finished narrowly behind on 17.58.
Following the race, Draper spoke with incredible maturity and although she failed to win, she believes that her performance will give her a huge confidence boost.
"I'm really pleased to have had a good run today. I felt strong throughout and this has given me a lot of confidence going into the South of England XC Championships in two weeks' time".
