Watford Harriers enjoyed relative success last Saturday at Upton Court Park, where they took part in the penultimate Chiltern League Cross Country race.
The stand out performance was that of Harvey O’Brart who placed third in the boys under-15 race, which also saw an impressive performance from Corey Keane who finished eventh.
The girls under-15 race, also showcased the Harriers young talent, Chloe Dearman finishing fourth, closely followed by Lavinia Economu in seventh.
Tatiana Peters, Paige Smith and Charlotte Fuller also took part finishing 17th, 18th and 20th.
The best placed female in the senior category was Helen Johal, who continued her recovery with a determined performance that earnt her seventh place.
Lorna McDermott placed 21st and was soon followed by Alison Putko and her sister Angela Halford in 27th and 28th.
Duncan Martin put in the strongest performance in the men’s senior race and finished 13th, Nick Harris was next in 22nd with Matt Adcock and Zac McDonough 25th and 29th.
The Harriers were also well represented at the Cross Country Championships at Fairlands Valley, on Sunday 8th January.
Ben Rochford, Harvey O’Brart, Corey Keane, Chloe Dearman, and Natalie Wickings all impressed, and were selected for Hertfordshire to compete in the Inter Counties Championships at Birmingham in March.
