Watford centre back Martin Taylor has suffered a new injury blow after he broke his big toe.
Taylor has been out since October 15 after he broke his collarbone and needed surgery.
The 32-year-old, who has yet to agree a new contract with Watford, played in a behind-closed-doors friendly against Dagenham and Redbridge last week but had to come off following a challenge.
Watford manager Sean Dyche told the Watford Observer that it is currently unclear how long Taylor will be our for.
Jonathan Hogg is still a doubt for this weekend's match with Birmingham City due to a knee injury and Stephen McGinn's rehabilitation is continuing, with the midfielder now "dipping in and out" of sessions with the first team and Under-18s, alongside his own individual work.
Watford have not named a date when McGinn is expected to return.
