Watford have completed the permanent signing of Nyron Nosworthy from Sunderland.
The 31-year-old has signed a two-and-a-half year deal at Vicarage Road.
The transfer fee is undisclosed but is unlikely to be excessive as the player only had six months left on his contract.
The centre back was a fans’ favourite at the Stadium of Light as the club gained promotion to the Premier League but he has not played for the club since January 2010 - spending 18 months on loan at Sheffield United.
The 31-year-old had not played a competitive game since April before he arrived at Vicarage Road.
Nosworthy made 13 consecutive appearances for Watford before his loan expired this week.
