Watford owner Laurence Bassini will be resigning as a director after comments made by chairman Graham Taylor.
Bassini has this afternoon sent a text message to the Watford Observer stating he will be resigning within the next 24 hours.
The Stanmore businessman also stated Taylor's comments at the fans' forum on Tuesday night was the reason behind his decision.
Since this article was initially upload, Watford have confirmed Bassini's intentions
The club statement read: "Owner Laurence Bassini has indicated it is his intention to resign his position as a director on the Hornets' Board.
"There will be no further comment from Watford Football Club at this time."
