Watford Town Thirds beat Bushey Thirds by 88 runs in Herts Division 13.

Bushey won the toss and put Watford into bat. Watford Town made a very good score of 233 for seven after Andy Shepherd hit his first half-century (56). Adnan Mohmand also hit a quick 58 for them.

In reply, Bushey were bowled out for 145 with Shepherd again impressing taking three for 43. Usman Hameed picked up three for 27 and Satya Ravipati took two for 33 for the victors.

A record partnership from two teenagers steered Langleybury Fourths to a comprehensive eight-wicket win at Reed Fourths.

The home team got off to a good start at five runs per over but were never able to up the run due an excellent spell by Nigel Ilott who bowled unchanged from one end returning figures of four for 61 off 23 overs. Reed’s innings closed at 227 for five from their allotted 47 overs.

The innings started badly with Chris Currie and Dave Anderson back in the pavilion with only 14 runs on the board.

However this was to be Reed’s only success with the ball and Josh McFarlane (97 not out) and Stuart Murray (111 not out), both 17, put together a brilliant unbroken partnership of 216 to see Langleybury home with four overs to spare. Murray’s score was also the highest individual effort from a Fourth player.

Chorleywood Fourths fell to a six-wicket defeat at home to Datchworth Thirds as they failed to post a target they were able to successfully defend.

Things started well for Wood as skipper Charles Hardcastle and vice-captain Sam Hatfield both scored 60 each, but the home side were unable to pick up the run rate enough and had to be content with finishing on 172 for five.

With the ball, both Josh Hodson and George Rillstone picked up two wickets apiece to slow Datchworth’s run-chase, but the visitors eventually got home with six overs in hand.
