Abbots Langley Thirds were thumped by 142 runs against debutants Mill Hill Village in Herts Division Ten.

Abbots made a promising start and wickets were picked up regularly as Mill Hill reached 96 for five after 29 overs.

But the strength and depth of Mill Hill Village's batting came to the fore as Abbots’ bowling became inconsistent going from 163 for eight after to 243 for nine after 50 overs.

Abbots were determined to be aggressive but a number of players were caught cold before they settled in. The pick of their batsmen was Nick Gurney who struck 45 but Abbots were all out for 101.

Northwood Thirds were on the wrong end of a one-sided game as they lost to Kings Langley by 150 runs.

Kings Langley amassed 243 for five in 50 overs with only Adam Mobo Bailey taking four for 60 in 20 overs. Debutant Dave Mitchell impressed with a fine 76 and Logan Turner hit 51 not out.

Northwood were going along nicely but they crumbled and were all out for 93 with Tim Gould claiming six for ten.

A dramatic batting collapse that followed a promising start to their innings by Chorleywood Thirds contributed to a six-wicket defeat at Little Berkhamsted Sahibs.

Wood appeared to be in a healthy position at 60 for one before eventually slumping to 127 all out. Club legend Simon Dare top-scored with 41 but only Jeremy Hinds was able to pass 20 as Wood handed over the initiative.

Despite picking up a couple of early wickets, Wood were never able to put the hosts under any real pressure and Sahibs reached their target with four wickets down and nearly 28 overs to spare.
