Division Four
Dave Barrett celebrated his 56th birthday by scoring to help Oxhey Jets Vets make it 40 points out of a maximum of 42 and win the division at the first attempt.
Club secretary Barrett’s side were once again led in fine style by WSFL leading scorer Lewis Putnam, who rounded off a great season with yet another hat-trick to take his tally to 63 goals. Jason Haxton also netted in the 5-1 away win at The Pavillion, whose goal was scored by Peter Staniford.
Terry Devereux WSFL President's Cup Final
A superb 30-yard effort from Ryan Marks saw Gadeside Rangers edge an entertaining final against fellow Premier Division strugglers West Herts.
Although Gadeside were in the driving seat for much of the game, they couldn’t find a way through until Marks struck the winner.
Division One
Previously unbeaten champions Carpenders Park Rangers suffered a remarkable 7-0 defeat at the hands of runners-up Mill End Sports.
The most consistent scorer in the division, Mark Brownsell, helped himself to another hat-trick and was well assisted by Paul Element, Adam Cadmore, Daryl Craft and Phil Pemberton.
Langleybury CC and United fought out a 1-1 draw, with Chris Eldridge scoring for the hosts, while Dewhurst Guild also upset the league positions with a pulsating derby win against The Artichoke (Croxley) 2-1 to put a big dent in their promotion push.
Dewhurst opened the scoring when Roshan Patel crossed for Kevin Mackie to smash home from close range and then went 2-0 through top scorer Gary Hayne, who had been set up by Kariem Jan Fali.
The Artichoke never gave up and set up a nail-biting finish after Andy Avis had pulled one back, only to be denied by some great goalkeeping from Craig Garratt.
Division Two
Champions Met Police (Bushey) finished a very successful season in the best possible way with another high-scoring win, 7-2 against Glendale.
Richard Taylor finished top scorer in the division with a hat-trick to make it 35 goals, while Steven Pickering, Ashley Shanahan, Ricky Gill and Houssam Zeizale completed the rout.
Victoria completed their late run to finish third in fine style by beating hapless Rifle Volunteer 6-2 thanks to Steve Noonan’s treble, Dean Collins, Matt Lamb and Scott Gibbons.
Runners-up The Crescent Club’s final game ended in a 2-2 draw against Hammer OGB Reserves.
Luke Beardsworth and Dean Collum netted for the hosts, with Mark Hansard twice replying for Hammer.
Division Three
Croxley RBL claimed the largest league win of the campaign after inflicting a 14-1 drubbing on Railway Arms.
The division’s top scorers – Glen O’Malley, with six (29 for season), and five-goal Michael East (24 for the season) – can be well satisfied with their efforts – and so can their club after finishing third.
Niall Parsons’ goal for Watford Irish Reserves was cancelled out by Dome Bar Rangers’ Justyn Walcott.
