The 14th Watford 10k is set for a record turnout on Monday in Cassiobury Park.
Registration for the event is at an all-time high with 1,214 signed up by yesterday. It will feature a 10k run for over-15s in addition to 1k and 3k fun runs.
Prizes will be presented to the winners and there are also rewards for the top sponsorship earners.
Camelot UK Lotteries Limited, operator of The National Lottery, is the gold sponsor of the event for the third year running.
The Watford based company are not only sponsoring the event, but have also entered a team of runners to compete, raising more money for the charitable causes.
Julian Price, Camelot’s Head of Corporate Responsibility said: “We are delighted to be sponsoring the Watford 10K for the third year running. It’s a fantastic event, bringing together local businesses and local communities.
"The race not only gives our employees the chance to take part in the event, but it enables them to raise vital funds for local charities.”
On the day, runners will be able to collect their race packs from 9.30am. Warm up for the 1k starts at 10.10am and the race will start at 10.30am.
Runners in the 3k and 10k will join a warm up at 11.10am with the 10k race getting underway at 11.30am and the 3k starting at 11.35am. Runners are asked to arrive in plenty of time of the start of their race.
Prizes for the winners will be awarded straight after the race for the 1k runners and at 1pm for the 3k and 10k runners.
The Watford 10k is organised by the Watford Roundtable and benefits Watford Mencap and other local charities. The Watford Round Table is hoping to beat 2009’s record total of £20,000 for charitable donations.
Entry is still available online at www.watford10k.org.uk until midday tomorrow.
