Northwood Town lost their first friendly of the season as they went down by five wickets at Ruislip.
Fielding a mixture of second and third team players, Town elected to bat first in glorious conditions. However, this proved to be a mistake as the pitch behaved eratically throughout. This coupled with some rusty technique meant that Town's scoring was laboured at best.
Rukshan Senanayaka provided a spirited free-flowing 17 whilst skipper Neil Cheesewright showed resistance, but the visitors were dismissed for a paltry 70.
In response, Ruislip were initially let off as Town dropped some early chances. However, Dom Whyley showed some early season form with three wickets.
Cheesewright took three catches behind the stumps and Veer Vadagama and Akshay Loomba took a wicket each but Town lost by five wickets.
