Watford will not be selling tickets to supporters for this weekend’s game with Queens Park Rangers unless they have a ‘regular booking history’ over the last two seasons.
Rangers fans have often found their way into the home end in previous seasons and with the Rs coming to Vicarage Road hoping to clinch the Championship title, there is expected to be even more away supporters travelling to Watford hoping to gain entry into the ground.
QPR have sold out their allocation for the fixture, with more than 2,000 fans making the short trip, and will only be given the normal section of the Vicarage Road end.
More than 300 of the seats in the Rangers’ end immediately next to the home section, in the Vicarage Road stand, will be a ‘family area’ on Saturday.
It is the first time the idea is being used by the Hornets after they conducted a survey with the fans in the Vicarage Road end recently.
Watford season ticket holders and fan card members can still buy tickets online and those with a regular booking history over the last two seasons can also purchase tickets in person or over the phone on 0844 856 1881.
Tickets can be purchased from the Hornets Shop on Occupation Road between 9.30am and 5.30pm this week. The shop and the ticket office at the Rookery End will also be open between 10am and 4pm on Friday.
If supporters want tickets for the QPR game to be sent to them then they need to book by 4pm today, otherwise they should be collected from the ticket office from 9am on Saturday.
- The Watford Observer understands there will also be an increased police presence at the game.
