Three Valleys Karate Club took a group of their members up to Wigan for a grading.
Members of the Rickmansworth club were graded in front of Tony Christian, the British Karate Association’s most senior instructor.
Will Matthews, Rene Deliege, Steve Tooke and brothers Daniel and Charlie Blake all graded for second degree black belt whilst Heidi Fenner, Chris Jones and Abbie Collins graded for first dan black belt.
All the students were graded in front of a panel of instructors and around 100 onlookers. Three Valleys instructor Steve Johnson was very proud of the students whose hard work and dedication shone through.
He said: “The aim of Karate is to improve the character of the student, and to travel 200 miles to attempt a grading in front of all those people shows immense character and determination.”
Three Valleys Karate club meet on Tuesdays and Thursdays and it is open to all ages and both sexes.
