Premier Division

Oakview completed their first aim by winning the Premier Division after top scorer Lee Armitt’s late, late winner sealed a 2-1 success over Hammer OGB.

The defeated side were beaten 8-0 by the champions three weeks ago, albeit with just eight players, but they put up much stiffer resistance to ensure they finished fourth in the table.

Armitt fired Oakview into a 25th-minute lead with his 21st league goal of the campaign, but Hammer’s top marksman Mark Hansard was then hauled down in the penalty area, allowing assistant manager Rob Booth to equalise.

Hammer keeper Leigham Stone was man-of-the-match after a fantastic performance kept the red tide at bay until the final seconds.

St Josephs finished second following a 3-1 at Ocusta, with Alex Brown, Kevin McKenna and Sean Sonner getting the goals and John Croft replying.

A highly creditable third-place finish was secured by Bushey after they beat early-season Premier pace-setters Victoria Vampires through two Jamie Brown goals.

WSFL Junior Cup Final

AFC Spartians completed a fine league and cup double following a hard-fought 2-1 win against Oxhey Estates Reserves.

Even though the eventual victors had the ball in the net early on, Estates pushed them all the way and reduced the deficit with a crunching 30-yard shot from Carl Wigg.

Division One

The Artichoke (Croxley) missed a golden chance to boost their promotion charge when they were beaten 3-2 at home by bottom side Langleybury CC, who had Dion Osbourne (2) and Paul Souster to thank for what was arguably their result of the season.

Champions Carpenders Park Rangers didn’t take their feet of the pedal, winning 6-3 at Wellington Arms.

Jamie Hunt scored twice and Jason Locke, Robbie Martin, Lee Cook and Paul Spicer were also on target, while spirited Wellington replied through Simeon Armstrong (2) and a solo effort from Mark Coffey.

United defeated Green Dragon 3-1 thanks to Sham Patel, Vilson Culaj and Sajmir Xhakrosa, with Daryl Atkins netting Dragon’s consolation.

Dewhurst Guild banished any thoughts of relegation after completing a league double over Watford Irish.

With a fully fit squad and seven substitutes at their disposal, it was Dewhurst who got out of the blocks fastest and Karim Fali flicked on a long goal kick from Craig Garratt into the path of the advancing Gary Hayne to fire home his sixth of the season.

Roshan Patel and Kevin Mackie both missed gilt-edged chances to extend the lead but Irish never gave up and equalised just before half-time.

However, the same combination worked again for Guild early in the second half, with Fali once again suppling Hayne to fire home.

Division Two

The Crescent Club sealed their third successive promotion with an emphatic 8-1 win over Glendale.

Liam Hanley helped himself to a hat-trick, Luke Beardsworth notched two and Arron O’Neill and Tyler Connor also scored, but the highlight was a first ever goal for David Thorpe.

The keeper went upfield for a corner and was the ball was cleared as far as the right midfielder, his cross was met with a superb right-footed strike to spark wild celebrations.

A Matt Coultham brace and Marc Duffy’s goal were not enough to save AFC Oddfellowes from a 7-3 defeat at the hands of Victoria.

Hammer OGB Reserves beat Rifle Volunteer 3-1 through Mark Smith, Alan Dunton and Craig Scott, while Nick Hanyours struck for Rifle.

Division Three

The highest scoring side in the league, Carefree Athletic, made it 82 goals for the campaign following their 6-0 victory at Railway Arms.

John Christian (2), Mitch Swain, Charlie Fordham, Adam Bouhessane and Sullivan were on target for a team who will be hoping to add to their impressive tally in their final game.

Glen Smith, Angelo Napolitano and Craig Foy fired Dome Bar Rangers to victory over Watford Irish Reserves, while honours ended even between Mangans and Gadeside Rangers Reserves. Luc Grant and James Egan scored for Mangans, with Tommy Mitchell and Steve Shaw responding.
