Division Two
MK Ginder Reserves completed the league and cup double on Sunday as they easily swept aside Brookside 16-0, while Riverside Athletic could only draw 2-2 with Everett Rovers Reserves.
Ginder led 8-0 by half-time, thanks in part to two early goals from Dave Brown, who went on to complete a hat-trick. The other goals came from four-goal Aiden O’Mara, Gavin Moore and Micky Haynes with a brace apiece, while Lee Parker, Steve Powell, Dave Warwick, Matthew Yull and Neil Yull all netted singles.
It is the second time in three seasons that Riverside have failed to win a title on the final day of the season after all the goals in the draw with third-placed Everett came in the second half.
Glen Coniam put the home side ahead before Stuart Duke equalised from the penalty spot. Everett went back in front through Jason Gullin, but straight from the kick-off Stuart Duce levelled again.
Despite heavy pressure, Riverside couldn’t find a winner, although that wouldn’t have been enough to take the title from Ginder because of the size of their victory.
Aquis finished fourth in the table after a 5-3 win over The Boys Home.
They had to come from 2-0 down at half-time, with the home sides netting through an own goal and one from Dean McKane.
Adrian Arrighi scored two quick goals after the restart to pull the visitors level before Duff put them ahead. The Boys levelled through Joe Hourican but it was Aquis who scored twice more through Duff and Arrighi.
There was another high-scoring game as Wood Rangers defeated Rickmansworth Athletic 4-3.
It was an end-to-end contest before a goal from James Martin clinched the points in the last minute.
Division One
Kings Langley did all they could in their race for the title with Radlett Road by defeating mid-table Rovers 5-1, although their prospects of snatching the crown remain very remote.
Rovers who went ahead through Jack Blackburn but Kings hit back through a Luke Everitt brace and other goals from Robbie Gardner, Steve Lovell and Matthew Starling.
For Langley to take the title though, it would require Radlett to not only lose their final game on Sunday to 3 Lions but also by such a margin to overcome the goal difference of 43.
Tudor Arms finished in third place with a 5-0 win over mid-table BTH Athletic.
Headstone Reserves defeated 3 Lions 4-2, with the Lions goals coming from Liam Watts and Martin Absalom.
Watford Labour also defeated Roundbush 4-2 after coming from two goals down thanks to braces from Ian Smithard and Richard Allen.
