Watford athlete Adam Bowden will be competing in the GE Strathclyde Park Triathlon next month.
Bowden is taking part in the first event of the season in the five-race British Triathlon Super Series which gets underway on Sunday, May 22.
He is a member of British triathlon’s world class development squad and will be battling it out with a strong elite field in what promises to be an enthralling first race in the Series.
Strathclyde Country Park, the triathlon venue for the 2014 Commonwealth Games, is an established fixture on the Super Series calendar and always provides a challenging course for the elite competitors.
Bowden said: “My goal for this year is another year of learning but now racing at the highest level possible in triathlon.
"I will still be trying to do all I can to try and qualify for the Olympics which will be challenging with so many top British triathletes. Strathclyde is a course that is fast but has a good hard bike course with a few hills in there to disrupt the rhythm.
“I raced Strathclyde Park last year and although it was my first race back from injury I came fifth so I was fairly happy with my performance.
"I came out of the water in the top six athletes which was very pleasing although I found myself on the floor after a poor transition and felt like I was rushing myself. I still enjoyed the course and it was a lovely sunny day.”
