The highest number of teams for three years will go into the draw for the Watford Observer Fourteen14 cricket competition, which takes place at 2pm tomorrow.
Entries from Abbots Langley, Rickmansworth and Watford Haidery were received before today’s extended noon deadline, taking the number of confirmed participants up to 23 – the most since 24 contested the 2008 event.
This means 15 teams will contest the first round – one will receive a bye – while the eight quarter-finalists from last year will, in keeping with competition tradition, be seeded and go directly into the second round.
These teams are: Abbots Langley; Bushey; Chipperfield Clarendon; Kings Langley; Langleybury A; Leverstock Green A; Met Police Bushey A; West Herts.
The full list of entrants is: Abbots Langley; Aldenham; Bushey; Chenies & Latimer; Chiltern; Chipperfield Clarendon; Hemel Hempstead Town; Kings Langley; Langleybury (two teams); Leverstock Green (two teams); Met Police Bushey (two teams); Punjabi Panthers; Radlett; Rickmansworth; Rickmansworth School Staff; Watford Grammar School for Boys; Watford Haidery; Watford Town (two teams); West Herts.
