Budding golfers can take advantage of free taster sessions this weekend.
The Hertfordshire Golf Partnership has arranged taster sessions around the area on Saturday and Sunday.
They are open to anyone aged 16 and over and the newcomers will be taught in small groups of no more than ten with opportunities to follow-up with further activities. All equipment will be provided.
Ben Hartfield, the county development officer, said: "We are hoping hundreds of people will take up our offer and discover that golf is great fun and a game which can be played by people from all backgrounds and of all ages and abilities.”
The two-hour sessions will take place at clubs which have won the national GolfMark award or are working towards it. GolfMark recognises clubs which are junior and beginner-friendly.
The venues taking part include Little Hay, Batchworth Park and Top Golf. The introductory weekend will coincide with the climax of the first golfing major of the season, the US Masters at Augusta.
Places at each session must be pre-booked by emailing office@hertsgolfunion.com or by calling 08081 682333.
