The Kall-Kwik Printing (Chiswick) President's Cup Final

MK Ginder retained the President’s Cup for a second season with a 3-0 victory over Headstone Athletic at Kings Langley on Sunday to complete a league and cup double.

In a repeat of last year’s final, Ginder enjoyed a more straightforward win this time around, leaving their opponents to contemplate a third straight defeat in the final of this competition.

Neither side played any decent football during a nervy opening, but Ginder went ahead after 20 minutes when Dan Burke lopped the ball over keeper Daryl Richardson from the edge of the area.

Headstone suffered another blow just minute after the restart when Dan Page was badly injured in a clash with Christopher Wells, which resulted in him being taken to hospital.

The injury seemed to upset Headstone badly and they conceded a second after 34 minutes when Dan Campbell, who scored in last year’s final for Athletic, netted a superb effort against his old team. Bringing the ball down on the edge of the area, he curled the ball into the top corner via the underside of the bar.

The game was effectively ended three minutes before the break when Tom Garratt headed home a free kick.

The second half was a non-event, with Ginder content to sit back and defend their lead, while their opponents were unable to break through an excellent defence.

Premier Division

Colne Valley Blues ended their season with a 2-0 defeat by Everett Rovers.

In a close game, Everett scored the winning goals in a ten-minute spell midway through the second half.

Division One

Radlett Road missed the chance to clinch the title after they could only draw 2-2 with Tudor Arms.

Radlett took the lead midway through the first half when Lee Taylor played the ball to Tim Alwyn, who finished well. But Tudor got back on terms when the ball broke nicely for Darren Reynolds to score The second half was largely a midfield battle before Tudor went in front when a shot was parried by Steve Fabray straight back to Luke Pochetty to net.

However, Road sealed a well-earned point with time running out when Paul Kenwright lofted a free-kick ball to Taylor, who brought the ball down and finished superbly.

Kings Langley are now the only side that can pip Radlett to the title after they managed a 1-0 win over FC Swan thanks to Luke Everitt’s goal.

3 Lions beat bottom-placed Roundbush 2-0 thanks to second-half goals from Manilo Corsaro and Gareth Heavey.

Division Two

The title race took a big twist when Riverside lost 2-1 at Rickmansworth Athletic.

All the goals came in the first half, with Rickmansworth scoring twice through Piotr Chec and Antino Guyennot, while Louis Whitfield responded.

The result means that Riverside’s fight with MK Ginder Reserves is likely to come down to goal difference or even goals scored.

The Boys Home picked up six points from their double header with bottom-placed ER.

The first game ended in a 3-0 win, with goals from Scott Rolls, Jason Hughes and Lee Perry, while Rolls, again, and Jason Rooney completed a 2-0 triumph in the second match.

Goals in either half from Simon Lowe and Jason Gullin gave Everett Rovers Reserves a 2-0 victory over Cassiobury United.

Aquis managed to pull away from Brookside to seal a 6-2 win after two being pegged back.

Adrian Arrighi put them ahead before Brookside levelled before half-time.

The same happened in the second half after Duff had put Aquis back in front, but they pulled clear through Skelton’s bullet header before Evans, who made a real impact off the bench, and the impressive Hawes-Baker completed the scoring.
