Watford Reserves moved to within a point of Ipswich Town and Oxford United at the top of the Combination East Division table with a 1-0 win over Colchester United.
The Hornets, who are the current champions, secured a 1-0 win at Boreham Wood’s Meadow Park last night thanks to Britt Assombalonga’s first-half goal.
Watford have a good chance of retaining the title as they are just a point off top with two games in hand on Ipswich and Oxford.
The Hornets have only three games left and this will be their last season in the division as they are pulling out in the summer.
