Watford fast bowler Steven Finn has received the ICC’s Emerging Cricketer of the Year Award.
Finn has taken 32 wickets in eight tests since his England debut and was handed the award at a ceremony in Bangalore, India.
The Middlesex fast bowler said: “It’s a great honour to win this, an award I wasn’t expecting and I’m very pleased and honoured to be playing Test match cricket for my country.
“I’ve enjoyed the last few months representing my country and I hope it continues. Next up is the Ashes and I think we're well prepared to win the series and have a settled side ready to go there this winter.”
Finn beat off competition from Australia’s Tim Paine, Pakistan's Umar Akmal and Sri Lanka's Angelo Mathews.
England spinner Graeme Swann was nominated for the ICC Cricketer of the Year Award but lost out to Indian superstar Sachin Tendulkar.
Swann did make the Test Team of the Year though alongside James Anderson, whilst Paul Collingwood and Stuart Broad were in the One Day team.
