ADRIAN BOOTHROYD feels the forthcoming international break has again come at the right time for Watford.

The Hornets' boss was appreciative of the enforced lay-off earlier this month, because it allowed time for plenty of work to be done on the training pitch, but of the forthcoming break, which starts after tomorrow's (Saturday, October 1) Leeds game, he said: "We need it because we need to give people a rest, spend a bit of time with their families, recharge and get a few people back and get ready to go and blitz a few games like we did when we started."

The fortnight without match action also featured in Boothroyd's thoughts following the defeat at Coventry. That setback made it three league games without a win for Watford but, when asked how the Hornets could recover from their first awkward period of the season, the manager said: "Get to the international break as fast as possible, beat Leeds, then look at where we are in the table and the points we've got and where everyone else thought we would be and give ourselves a pat on the back. Realise we're a quarter of the way through and then push on for the next three-quarters and make sure we finish a lot higher than we did last year, which won't be hard."
