WATFORD will put one of only three remaining unbeaten away records in the Championship on the line at Crewe tomorrow (Saturday, September 24) and they will be expected to build on it.
The Hornets' superb to the season, coupled with the fact that the Railwaymen haven't won since the opening day of the campaign, means the visitors will be favourites to add to their three away victories on their travels.
Adrian Boothroyd is conscious his team will be expected to prevail but, from his perspective, there are different demands on his players.
"It is about expectation, my expectation of the players and we have to win that game and then go to Coventry and win and then beat Leeds, then we can have a nice break. But we have to go and give a good account of ourselves."
The manager though, is not surprised his team have proved a strong proposition away from home so far this season, explaining: "We are quite a direct team at the moment and capable of counter-attacking. I am working on us becoming more flexible because we are going to need to be able to do that for the amount of games we have to play.
"I honestly think, come January, we will be a different team in the way we shut games down. We will have learnt an awful lot in a short space of time."
