THIS week's transfer deadline passed without any new arrivals or departures from Vicarage Road.
It was thought Adrian Boothroyd may try and strengthen his forward options by bringing in another striker, but the Watford boss said on Wednesday, August 31 he did not move for any players, explaining: "I don't think we need to do that just yet, we're OK."
Although the Hornets have a week away from league action because of the international break, the manager is planning on using the time to positive effect at London Colney.
"We will use the break by doing some work on the training pitch and making sure we improve on what we're doing at the moment," he explained.
"There's a lot of stuff we need to do. We're a little bit disjointed at times, but that's understandable."
Some may feel the enforced break has come at a bad time for the Hornets, as it disrupts their six-game unbeaten run, but Boothroyd does not concur with this view.
"It is a very good time because we don't want to paper over the cracks," he said. "After every game we sit down and analyse it. We want to be a side that stays up there now."
