ADRIAN BOOTHROYD will not be panicked into signing a new striker after Watford were forced to release Junior from his contract on Wednesday, August 10 .
The Brazilian forward was "reluctantly" let go after failing to produce documentation that allowed him to be employed in England and enable the Hornets to complete his registration.
"I am disappointed but I am not one to moan and groan," said the manager of the loss of one of his summer signings.
"It is unfortunate and unforseen but these things happen and we'll just get on with it."
Asked if he was likely to look for a different type of striker given that Junior was similar in height to Darius Henderson and Marlon King, Boothroyd responded: "Junior was a bit different. At the moment I have got three very lively and good front players and I'm not even speaking about Ashley Young, who can play up front. We're OK for the time being, but I've got an eye on the shadow squad again and we'll just keep monitoring those."
The Junior situation came to light when Watford flew out to Denmark for their pre-season tour and the authorities questioned the validity of his passport, although the Brazilian was allowed into the country.
The Hornets then gave the player three weeks to get his paper work in order, but he was unable to do so before Monday's deadline.
