WATFORD head to top-of-the-table Ipswich Town tomorrow (Tuesday, February 22) knowing a big improvement in their performance level is needed or they will run the risk of suffering another heavy defeat after their Sunderland shocker.

The Hornets were without a game at the weekend because of Nottingham Forest's continued involvement in the FA Cup, but Ray Lewington has spent the longer than usual break between matches stressing the need for greater discipline after watching his team gift the Black Cats a 3-0 lead.

"I think the lesson is if we play like we did at Sunderland we could easily have the same thing on Tuesday night, so we have got to make sure that doesn't happen," warned the Watford boss. "But Ipswich are completely different to Sunderland. They are probably the best footballing side in the division and will always score goals, no doubt about that, but we have to be heartened by the fact that they do sometimes give you a chance. We know it is extremely difficult but sometimes things like Saturday can work for you."
