RAY LEWINGTON will unleash his 26-goal strike pairing of Heidar Helguson and Danny Webber against Gillingham tomorrow (Saturday, February 5) for what the manager terms a "vital" game, as long as the Icelandic striker is fit to play.
The Hornets' leading scorer trained for the first time this week yesterday (Thursday, February 3) after a thigh injury forced him to stay behind as the rest of the squad headed for a break in Portugal last weekend. Helguson finished the training session earlier than his team-mates as a precaution, but Lewington is optimistic he will be fit as he is keen to pair Watford's leading hit men together up front for the first time since Webber dislocated his shoulder, ironically against the Gills, at the start of November.
"I think what we all want to see is the Webber and Helguson combination together," said the manager. "Danny was scoring goals at the start of the season when Helguson had missed some of pre-season and had made a sluggish start, and then just when H' started getting into his flow Danny got injured, so we have not had the beauty of the two together much."
