WATFORD's leading scorer Heidar Helguson has been targeted by the national press as the Championship player most likely to be the subject of an offer during the Premiership's transfer window.
But although there has been speculation linking Helguson to Charlton, Crystal Palace and even Southampton, Ray Lewington believes a bid is unlikely.
"I don't think they will come in because we are getting towards the end of the transfer window. Deals of this nature are not just a phonecall, an agreed price and a signing the next day. They take a time to negotiate. I would have thought we would have received an offer, or even an enquiry by now," contended the Watford boss.
"If we don't hear anything in the next few days I don't think anything is likely. I am pretty confident on that."
For more of Ray's thoughts don't miss this week's edition of the Watford Observer.
