RAY LEWINGTON admits that while preparing for Fulham, the Hornets have one eye on next week's Carling Cup visit to Liverpool.

"Probably the saddest thing is that both games are coming so quick after what has been a very heavy period. We have no time to look forward to each of them individually. They are too close together to really enjoy," said the Watford boss.

"Even as we prepare for Fulham, we are aware Liverpool is just round the corner.

"It will be interesting to see what side they will play. They have played quite a few of their young players in the previous rounds and they did extremely well to beat a full strength Spurs team."

Lewington and Nigel Gibbs travelled to watch Liverpool Reserves in action before Christmas so as to familiarise themselves with some of the younger players who may come into the Semi-Final equation.

"We have seen the Reserves to get acquainted, and we have had their games covered. The fact is we will not know what approach they will have to this game until we get the team-sheet at Anfield," said Lewington.
