Watford caretaker boss Malky Mackay has re-appointed former assistant manager Keith Burkinshaw to the coaching staff on an interim basis.
Burkinshaw left the club in January for personal reasons, but there were widespread suggestions that his departure was the result of footballing disagreements with former manager Aidy Boothroyd, who left the club on Monday.
Burkinshaw will help Mackay settle into his caretaker role and provide advice and expertise to the Scotsman, who worked as a player and coach under the former Tottenham boss.
Mackay, who took training for the first time this morning, said: "I feel the time is right to bring a man of Keith's experience back to the football club.
"He has a wealth of football knowledge and has much to offer."
