Aidy Boothroyd could be set for a dramatic return to management quicker than anyone envisaged – if the bookmakers are to be believed.
Sky Bet have suspended betting on the former Watford boss taking charge at Huddersfield Town after he was backed down at all prices from 8-1 to 1-4.
The bookmakers’ head of PR, Helen Jacob, said: “After taking just a handful of bets on the other candidates and racking up a four figure liability on Boothroyd, we have suspended betting for the time-being pending further developments.”
The League One club are looking for a new manager after parting company with Stan Ternent earlier today.
Boothroyd’s departure from Vicarage Road yesterday came hours after Sky Bet had slashed his odds on being the next Championship manager to lose his job from 14-1 to 6-4.
