Eddie Jones believes Dylan Hartley should have been punished for a reckless challenge on Moses Rauluni during yesterday's EDF Cup clash.
Saracens defeated Northampton Saints 33-19 to keep their semi-final hopes alive but the game was soured by a clothesline from Hartley on Rauluni late on. The Saints hooker, who was sinbinned in the previous game between the sides last month, was given a talking to but no further action was taken.
Saracens' director of rugby said: "They should have had one in the sinbin. I thought that play was quite dangerous from Hartley. I hope the citing commissioner has a good look at it. He attacked the head of a player and was away from the ball. It's a serious misdemeanour. I think it would be a concern for his coach that he lacks discipline.
“We are certainly not happy with it. Discipline is exacerbated by the pressure of the game and the last ten minutes is like every minute of a test match. He seems like a good kid, he can play a bit but you don’t want to see players do those sorts of things. If you’re doing it in a club game like this then you would worry about it in a test match."
