Club officials are still refusing to comment on whether a request has been received to hold an extraordinary general meeting of Watford Leisure Plc, even though the Watford Observer is aware that this is the case.

This newspaper revealed last week that the Hornets’ two former directors, Jimmy and Vince Russo, had forced an emergency meeting amid continuing uncertainty about the club’s long-term future, but Watford are still remaining tight-lipped on the matter.

The reason for the delay may be because there is a period of 28 days in which to notify shareholders after a request for an EGM has been received in writing. It is understood this was made on Tuesday of last week (October 14).

Having notified shareholders, the football’s club parent company then has a further 21 days in which to stage the meeting itself.

This means Watford Leisure could wait a maximum of 49 days following the written request, making Tuesday, December 2 the last possible day on which the meeting could take place.

However, one date that has been confirmed is the sixth annual meeting of the Watford Supporters Trust.

This will take place on Thursday, November 27, starting at 7.30pm, at the Metropolitan Sports Club, Aldenham Road, Bushey, and all members of the supporters organisation are invited to attend.
