Aidy Boothroyd is set to be in the pleasant position of having some selection dilemmas for tonight’s clash with Cardiff City at Vicarage Road as Watford seek to win a third successive league game for the first time in eight months.

Following the victories over Preston and Southampton the Hornets will seek to achieve something they have not managed since February, and they will aim to do so with arguably their strongest matchday squad for some time.

Lloyd Doyley and Jobi McAnuff were both on the bench at St Mary’s on Saturday – the former coming on for the closing stages – after their respective injury problems, while skipper Jay DeMerit may also be in contention to face the Bluebirds after missing the 3-0 win with a slight hamstring problem.

But possibly the most intriguing selection issue ahead of tonight’s game surrounds the potential involvement of Grzegorz Rasiak.

The on-loan Southampton striker is expected to feature in some capacity after missing almost two months with a boken bone in his shoulder, although it will be a surprise if he goes straight back into the starting line-up at the expense of either Saturday’s two-goal hero Tamas Priskin or Will Hoskins.
