Some of the biggest names in the NFL are now settling into their temporary home at The Grove ahead of their big day at Wembley Stadium on Sunday.

Players and officials from the New Orleans Saints flew into Gatwick this morning – still smarting from yesterday’s 30-7 defeat to the Carolina Panthers – and then made their way to the Chandler’s Cross hotel and golf complex which will act as their base for this weekend’s International Series clash with the San Diego Chargers.

Saints head coach Sean Payton faced both the American and domestic media for the first time this afternoon and is impressed with their surroundings for this week.

“I like the location here, the people have been very accommodating and I think the set-up here has been great,” said Payton. “You’ve got to kind of want to find it first off, it’s out there in the country, but that’s a good thing though.

“We were just out on the one field here, on the property, and that’s in great shape, so I could see us possibly practicing out here, but I like it.

“I like the set-up and I think our advanced people have done a great job. So much goes into this, from a logistics standpoint and moving everything – literally computers, phones, video – there are a lot of challenges involved, but the people here have been very accommodating and very welcoming.”
