Two of Hertfordshire’s top darts players put in fantastic performances at the Scottish Players Championship at the weekend.
Oxhey’s Alex Roy picked up £5,000 after winning Saturday’s competition and Abbots Langley’s Mark Walsh finished runner-up in Sunday’s version of the event to land a £2,500 cheque.
Both players have now qualified for the European Championship later this month.
Roy came from behind at the Magnum Centre, in Irvine, to beat Denis Ovens 3-2 in the final and win his first title since March 2005.
Ovens was also beaten by Walsh in Sunday’s tournament, as the Abbots Langley builder made his way to the final, before being beaten by James Wade 3-1 in the final.
