Herts Senior Cup Third Round

St Joseph’s are on the Herts Senior Cup march again after moving into the quarter-finals with a 3-0 victory over Brewster Plumbing, the current holders of the county Intermediate cup from the Berkhamsted Sunday League.

The much-travelled Chris Blunden gave the 2022 and 2023 winners the lead on his debut with a finish from close range.

The victory was completed in the second half when Lewis Davis scored with a long-range chip, before Owen Ayres finished off a move involving Blunden and Davis.

Joes will now face Six Bells of the Hertfordshire 1961 League for a place in the semi-final.

Evergreen also reached the last eight after they beat Phoenix 2-1.

The victors took the lead in the first half with a well-worked move from a free-kick. Brogan Townsend played in Charlie Tilbrook who squared the ball back for Jake Sahota to turn home.

The home side levelled in the second period before Evergreen netted the winner from another free-kick when Tilbrook turned the ball home at the far post.

It could be an all-WSL quarter-final as Evergreen will face North Watford if they beat Borehamwood Rovers in their rearranged tie on December 15, after the game was postponed on Sunday.

Premier Division

The only top-flight game played saw WD Bushey Rangers take over at the top of the table after they beat Chalfont Saints 3-0 to inflict their eighth straight league defeat.

Saints defended well before the deadlock was finally broken ten minutes from the break when a penalty was converted by Joshua Keane Quinlivan after Hodge Almeida had been brought down in the area.

Quinlivan scored his second of the game 20 minutes into the second half, and he then completed his hat-trick and the win 15 minutes from time when he turned home a rebound.

Division One

Leaders Forza Watford beat St Joseph’s Reserves 3-0 thanks to a hat-trick from Giuseppe Delgaudi, who netted twice in the first half and once in the second.

Second-placed Everett Rovers kept the pressure on Forza as they beat Old Fullerians 4-1.

Jordan Standley was involved in all four of the Everett goals, having set his side on their way with a strike following a Raphael De Souza cross.

In the second half, Standley set up Lucas Roberts to score with a header at the far post and within a minute raced through himself to make it 3-0, before turning provider again by crossing for De Souza who made it four.

Fullerians battled well and scored a consolation goal in the last minute after James Rose won the ball back on the by-line and picked out Craig Totton who found the far corner of the net from the left corner of the box.

Watford Town moved up into third place as they defeated Watford Youth Sports 4-0 thanks to four second-half goals.

The first goal came when Cameron Quinn scored with a cross-come shot. Ozzie Ogbebor doubled the lead soon after with a strike from the edge of the box. Jack McDonnell added a third before Tom Bourke rounded off the victory with a shot from 25 yards.

Watford United gained a first league win of the season after they beat Chess United 4-0 with all the goals coming in the first half.

Haroon Mahmood netted twice alongside goals from Umayr Anwar and Mayvin Vigneswaran.

Division Two

The top two sides, Woodside and Hertfordshire Athletic, both enjoyed large home wins.

Leaders Woodside emphatically overcame bottom-placed Frances George 9-1.

Elliott Smith and Lui Potiuk both scored doubles, supported by goals from Joe Fox, Tom Garratt, Josh Towle, Andre Federico and Joe McCarthy. Ashley Cox replied for George.

Athletic remain six points behind Woodside, but with two games in hand, after they put 13 unanswered goals past mid-table Inter.

They took the lead early on after Jack McLaughlin got to the by-line and cut back for Evan King to finish into the roof of the net and never looked back.

The advantage was doubled soon after when Ed Rogers chipped a ball into McLaughlin who took it on his chest and then rifled a volley into the top corner.

Reece Hatherell then floated in a corner for King to nod in at the front post to make it 3-0.

The fourth soon followed when an Inter defender mishit a clearance into the path of Henry Gibbor, whose original shot was saved but he netted the loose ball.

The goals continued to flow in the second half, as Luke Sutcliffe slipped Gibbor in on the left and he rounded the keeper and slotted home.

A dink over the top from Josh Anwar sent Gibbor clear and he rounded the keeper again and completed his hat-trick.

Six soon became seven when Max Davies dribbled into the box and drilled the ball under the keeper, before Rogers got to the by-line on the left and cut the ball back for McLaughlin to tap in.

Josh Anwar put a cross into the back post where Sutcliffe made no mistake for goal number nine, with Rogers getting on the scoresheet when Davies slipped a ball in for him to race clear and finish across the keeper into the far corner to take the scoring tally into double figures.

There was still no let up from Athletic as Sutcliffe broke clear on the left and crossed for Gibbor to poke past the keeper.

Number 12 followed when McLaughlin drilled the ball across the goal for Gibbor to tap in at the back post, Cory Sayers then mishit a shot that fell to Gibbor in the six-yard box to tap home to complete his double hat-trick to finish the rout.

Batchworth beat Langleybury 4-0 thanks to a hat-trick from Mikel Walsh and one from Marcus Rivers.

Watford Youth Sports 2nd edged past West Herts 2-1, Liam Rawsthorne and Jake Howell with the goals for Sports and Stephen Clunie getting the Stags reply.

Division Three

FC Railway moved back to the summit of the table after a narrow 3-2 win over AFC Watford.

Dan McKane, Nathan Tannian and Callum O'Grady netted for Railway with Peter Rock getting both of the AFC replies.

Dome Bar gained a third league victory of the campaign with a 5-2 away success over bottom-placed Nascot AFC.

Jay Haynes and Steve Noonan both netted braces, alongside a goal from Ben Davies. Sam Hardie and Morgan Osunsedo replied for Nascot.

Abbots Wanderers also enjoyed a third league win as they overcame Surely Wood 3-2.

Jack Hoggett scored twice, supported by a goal from Edwin Power. Keith McAspurn and Brett Fincham scored for Wood.
