Well-wishes have poured in for Luther Blissett, after the Watford FC legend was rushed to hospital.
After hosting an auction at this year’s My Local Hero event on Saturday (November 16) , the 66-year-old former Hornets and England striker left the main room and collapsed, according to event organisers.
Luther was rushed from The Grove Hotel, where the event was held, to Watford General Hospital and was subsequently transferred to a specialist hospital in London for further tests.
The Watford Observer reported yesterday (November 21) that Luther suffered a bleed on the brain, but has made a good recovery and is in high spirits.
Watford FC was quick to send well wishes to its record goalscorer, wishing the former striker "the fullest possible recovery".
Chairman and chief executive Scott Duxbury said: “Luther and all of his loved ones know they have our full support. We will do all we can to help.”
The Watford FC supporters trust also took to X (formerly Twitter) to send its "best wishes" to Luther.

The love for Luther extended beyond the world of football, with Mayor of Watford Peter Taylor sending his "heartfelt good wishes" to a man fondly regarded as "Watford's favourite son" for his impact both on and off the pitch.
Mr Taylor said: "He is not only a Watford legend but also a beloved figure in the community, who works day-in, day out helping others".
His deputy, Cllr Aga Dychton urged Luther to "take your time and get well soon".
The Lord-Lieutenant of Hertfordshire Robert Voss said: "I was with Luther at the awards dinner when he became unwell and have been kept informed of his situation.
"Luther is an excellent and active Deputy Lieutenant of Hertfordshire and together with all my Deputies I send him my best wishes for a full and speedy recovery.
"He is already sorely missed and the community of Watford and beyond need Luther back amongst us undertaking his many roles and good deeds.”
Comedian Omid Djialli also took to social media, "sending love" to the star.
After hanging up his boots, Luther had a short spell behind the wheel, racing an Alfa 156 in the Alfa Romeo Championship.
Andy Hancock, coordinator of the Alfa Romeo Championship, said: "The thoughts of everyone connected with the Alfa Romeo Championship are with Alfa, Watford and England legend, Luther Blissett, together with Lauren and their families.
"We all wish Luther a speedy and full recovery and hope that he is back home with Lauren as soon as possible."
Shortly after the news broke, his partner Lauren Fox took to social media to thank supporters for their messages, writing that "they mean absolutely everything to him".
