Although the outstanding Giorgi Chakvetadze took the man of the match award after the 1-0 win over Oxford at Vicarage Road, there were a number of other excellent performances from those in yellow.
The Georgian ran the show in the second half, as he has against so many teams this season, and stepped right into the Sky Sports spotlight.
“He’s an outstanding player and if he adds goals to his game he doesn’t have a ceiling,” said Cleverley.
“His game intelligence and what pockets to pick up, and then the way he receives and travels with the ball is something I’ve not seen before.”
However, it was Kwadwo Baah who collected the assist for the winning goal as once again his ability to go past opponents unlocked the defence.
“It’s a big part of his game and he’s dangerous against anyone in a one v one situation,” Cleverley said.
“Again he was on a reduced load so we couldn’t play him for the full 90 minutes even though I felt it was a game for him.
“We just have to manage him through this period and the international break now is perfect timing for him.
“But Rocco came on and impacted the game really well and I was pleased with his introduction.”
Imran Louza came in for his fifth appearance and second start of the season, and recaptured the form that he showed at the start of last term.
“I felt like Imran looked like he’d never been away, and I’m delighted for him.
“I know how it feels to be on the periphery of a squad that’s been quite successful.
“Now he can massively feel a part of things and I thought he was outstanding.
“He controlled the game for us and he was inch perfect in possession.
“He certainly can feel he was a huge part of why we won the game.”
