Herts Senior Cup Round One

St Joseph’s, winners of this competition in both 2022 and 2023, put out holders Strafford Arms 4-2 in a repeat of the 2022 final.

The Watford Sunday League side had the best possible start when Dan Griggs opened the scoring after just four minutes.

Five minutes into the second half it was 3-0 thanks to a header from Harry Seabrook.

Strafford pulled one back from Sam Doolan before Griggs completed a brace with a neat finish from the edge of the box.

Doolan scored again for Arms with a late consolation goal.

The win sets up an all-WSL tie in the second round with last season’s runners-up WD Bushey Rangers who enjoyed a 4-0 away win over Troll Campbell.

The home side had the better of the opening 30 minutes but failed to make the most of a couple of good chances before they were punished when Ryan Fisken netted with a strike into the bottom corner.
