Watford Women made it 15 goals in the space of three days as they hammered MK Dons 8-0 at Grosvenor Vale this afternoon.

They followed up their 7-1 win at Chesham in the cup on Thursday night with an even more resounding home win the National League South.

The game also marked the 100th appearance for the club by skipper Megan Chandler, completing a brilliant afternoon for the Hornets as they showed no mercy to the National League Southern Division’s bottom side.

It only took 10 minutes for Watford to break through a Dons defence that had already conceded 16 goals in three league this season, as Coral Haines' low cross was diverted into the net by a defender for an own goal.

The second goal arrived a quarter of an hour later as a cross ran across the face of goal and was retrieved by Gemma Davison on the left of the box, before she cut in and scored with a low shot into the corner.

It was 3-0 in the 27th minute as Flo Fyfe broke into the box on the right, looked up and squared perfectly for Davison to sweep home her second.

Right on the stroke of half-time Watford added their fourth in some style as Elkie Bowyer sent a dipping 25-yard shot over the Dons keeper and into the net.

Six minutes after the restart the Golden Girls made it 5-0 when Fyfe was released on the right of the box and cleverly finished with the outside of her right boot.

Just before the hour-mark Jessie Gale netted her fourth goal in three games.

Davison was the creator this time, spotting her teammate’s run into the area and picking her out with floated pass.

Gale still had work to do but she steered the ball round the advancing keeper and then planted her shot into the net.

Poppy Wilson came close to scoring before Watford saw a shot come back off the post, bounce off the grounded keeper and then run across the open goal and wide of the other upright.

However, it was 7-0 in the 83rd minute when Haines followed up to score after her penalty had been saved.

And, in stoppage time, Lachante Paul rounded off the scoring with a shot from the edge of the box that flew into the top-left corner.
