The future looks bright at Oxhey Jets after their Under-18s produced a superb 4-2 victory at Berkhamsted to win their second FA Youth Cup match on the road this season.

Both teams impressed with the quality of the football in Monday night’s tie, with Jets taking the lead through Patrick Brander only to be rocked by the equaliser on the half-time whistle.

The visitors withstood a lot of pressure but broke clear for Ryan Moran to make it 2-1 and it looked job done when Dylan Roberts scored Jets’ third with a pile driver from a tight angle.

Berkhamsted pulled one back with three minutes remaining to put Jets’ hopes of progressing back in the balance, but any nerves were settled when Dhyan Sharma broke clear to net the fourth and ensure the visitors progressed.

The Combined Counties League club are pinning a lot of hope on their youngsters as they continue to rebuild and this result demonstrated that optimism has foundation.
