A total of eight Watford players will be away on duty with their countries in this first international break of the 2024/25 season.

Giorgi Chakvetadze was part of the Georgia that went on their their historic run to the Round of 16 at UEFA Euro 2024, and he is part of their squad taking part in UEFA Nations League action.

Having finished top of their 2022/23 Nations League group, Georgia earned promotion to League B, and will compete in the second-tier of the competition for the first time.

They start with a home tie against Czechia on Saturday (September 7, 5pm), before an away trip to Albania on Tuesday (September 10, 7.45pm).

Having had a Euro finals to forget, Ryan Porteous will look to put that behind him as he is in Scotland’s squad for their two Nations League games.

Ken Sema could be in line to make his first appearance in the Nations League for four years after receiving a first call-up to the Swedish national team since November 2023.

Following his impressive start to the season, Edo Kayembe has been called up by DR Congo as they start their Africa Cup of Nations qualification campaign.

Ryan Andrews has earned another call-up to the England Elite League Squad.

The 20-year-old has been given the nod by interim Head Coach Paul Nevin, formerly of Gareth Southgate’s coaching staff, to be part of the squad for the upcoming fixtures from Saturday September 7.
